NRA Basic Pistol Course
NRA Basic Pistol Class
The main focus of the NRA Basic courses is to help the student develop the knowledge, skills and attitude to safely and effectively handle and fire a pistol. The class begins discussing fire safety and then progresses into covering:
- pistol and action types
- ammunitions selection
- shooting fundamentals
Once the classroom topics are presented, students proceed to the shooting range where they have the opportunity to shoot their firearm under the tutelage of their instructor.
In order to fully participate in the range exercises, be sure to comply with the following requirements:
1. bring a reliable handgun (any caliber you can shoot will suffice)
2. 1 magazine (semi-auto) or 1 speed loader (revolver), the more magazines or speed loaders (the more the better)
3. ear muffs and eye protection
4. 100 rounds of factory ammunition
5. wear a billed ball cap (to protect you from hot brass)
All NRA course instructors are certified through a rigorous training program to ensure the student obtains the best firearm training offered by the NRA.
