NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home - Student

Deadly encounters occur in stores, restaurants, on the streets and roadways, and wherever criminals spot easy targets.  This course covers topics and techniques related to self protection scenarios one might encounter outside the home.

The subjects covered in this class include:

1. The proper method of presenting the pistol from concealment.

2. Range drills covering the basic aspects of performing defensive tactics.

3. Shooting from high and low cover.

4. One handed shooting, shooting and moving, pivotal shooting, extended range shooting and low light shooting.

The course is 14 hours long over a two day period.  Students need to bring:

1. A handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition,
2. Stong side hip holster,
3. Lunch,
4. Ball cap recommended,
5. Eye and ear protection.
