CHARITY EVENT

 In preparation for the holidays, Eagle Rock Gun School and Range is sponsoring a food drive for the Eastern Idaho Food Bank.  Each individual or family who donates a minimum of 6 cans of food on Saturday, September 29th, from 9:00AM to 6:00PM can shoot for free.

Plan on attending our charity event and support Eastern Idaho Food Bank with your generous donation.

 

TURKEY SHOOT THIS FALL

 

Come compete in first annual Eagle Rock Gun School and Range Turkey Shoot!
DATE: November 10, 2018
TIME: 9:00AM to Noon
AGE CATEGORIES: under 18, 19-54, 55 and over
FIREARM CATEGORIES Center Fire (50 and 100 yard targets) and Rim Fire (25 yard targets) - Optics and Iron Sights are the shooters choice
 PRIZES: Winner in each of the 9 categories receives a gift certificate for a 15 pound turkey
 FEE:  $5 per Firearm Category
 At the end of the day there will be a drawing for 2 handguns.  First prize is a Smith and Wesson Shield EZ .380 and Second Prize is a Surprise handgun.  Raffle tickets are $10 and only 300 will be sold for this drawing.  Tickets can be purchased at Eagle Rock Gun School and Range and at the Lewis Clark Gun Show on October 6th and 7th.

Prerequisite: NRA Basic Instructor Training Qualification

Candidates for pistol instructor ratings must perform as follows the pre-assessment exercises:

1) Pre-test: 90% or higher
2) Unloading Procedures: The candidate must demonstrate basic safe handling and unloading procedures for the pistols specified.

Course Description:


The purpose of this course is to develop NRA Instructor Candidates who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course. This course is eleven (11) hours long, and presents the following topics:

1. Introduction to the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course Lesson Plans
2. How to teach pistol knowledge and safe gun handling
3. How to teach ammunition knowledge and the fundamentals of pistol shooting
4. Describes the basic pistol instructional methodology
5. Presents steps to be taken before and during first shots live firing exercises
6. Describes how to demonstrate the two-handed standing and one-handed standing shooting positions
7. How to evaluate and improve the performance of beginning pistol shooters
8. How to present pistol sports and other handgun activities

A written examination with a score of 90% or greater is required to be certified as an instructor. Students will receive the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course Outline and Lesson Plans, NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting student handbook, NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course Completion Certificate, NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course Student Examination/Evaluation, NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program Booklet, Basic Rocker Handout, Basic Rocker, NRA Gun Safety Rules, NRA Basic Firearm Training Program NRA Pistol Instructor Application/Examination.
