NRA Basic Rifle Course, 9:00am-5:00pm
NRA Basic Rifle Class
The main focus of the NRA Basic courses is to help the student develop the knowledge, skills and attitude to safely and effectively handle and fire a rifle. The class begins discussing fire safety and then progresses into covering:
- rifle and action types
- ammunitions selection
- shooting fundamentals
Once the classroom topics are presented, students proceed to the shooting range where they have the opportunity to shoot their firearm under the tutelage of their instructor.
In order to fully participate in the range exercises, be sure to comply with the following requirements:
1. bring a reliable rifle (any caliber you can shoot will suffice)
2. ear muffs and eye protection
3. 100 rounds of factory ammunition
4. wear a billed ball cap (to protect you from hot brass)
All NRA course instructors are certified through a rigorous training program to ensure the student obtains the best firearm training offered by the NRA.
Students receive a NRA manual, a safety rules pamphlet, a Winchester/NRA Marksmanship book and a course completion certificate.
Upon processing your credit card payment, you will receive a confirmation of enrollment from Eagle Rock Gun School and Range. However, if you prefer to pay by mail, please complete this application form by clicking here and mail it to the address on the form with payment at least 2 weeks in advance of the class date.
